ANNOTATION:

The proceeding from the jubilee 30th international music-educational conference Musica viva in schola continues the tradition of publishing MVIS conference papers from previous years. The contributions respond to current issues in music education and the arts and culture, including modern approaches in education and research projects. In addition to the above, the current year also focuses on musical traditions in music education. Authors include academics and researchers, as well as music didactics, practitioners, and representatives of national and international music education societies.

ANNOTATION

The presented publication provides information on the cultural and historical development of the festival, conception, compositions, nature of concert instruments, etc. The first chapter contains a cross-section of the 40-year history of the festival (Judita Kučerová). The historical study is followed by three chapters, which also include the personal memories and experiences of the current playwright and festival organizer Hana Bartošová. The founder of the organ festival, prof. Alena Veselá, former rector of the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno and still a concert organist. The chapter on concert organs, on which individual music evenings are held, was prepared by Jan Martin Bejček. The last part of the collective monograph consists of reviews of concerts held since the first years of the festival (Hana Bartošová), then in the period when the Brno Organ Festival was taken over by the artistic and financial patronage of the Moravian Composers' Club (Marek Sedláček), and an overview of concerts outside Brno (Hana Bartošová). Information about the authors is based on preserved written documents and interviews with witnesses and festival implementers.

ANNOTATION

The monograph presents the results of a research project from 2018, carried out as part of a specific research. Students of the doctoral studies program and academic staff of the Department of Music took part in its implementation. Attention was focused on the application of folk music in music education at primary and secondary schools.

ANNOTATION

The monograph presents the results of a research project carried out in 2018 by the team of the Department of Music, Faculty of Education, Masaryk University, with the aim of capturing the current state of music theory teaching in music schools in the Czech Republic. The data was obtained by a questionnaire survey of teachers and pupils of chosen schools. They touched on music didactic issues, teaching methods, aids and materials used in practice, including modern multimedia technologies. A survey into the area of ​​pupils' theoretical knowledge was also included. The research was carried out in order to obtain data for further improvement of music education at music schools.

The proceedings contain full-text papers presented at the conference on music education entitled „Music Preferences of Youth as a Contemporary Music Education Issue“ organized by the Department of Music, the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University in Brno (CZ) on the 2nd of December 2015. The papers are focused on the problems of music preferences of young people as an important starting point for the current and future school music education. ANNOTATION

The presented monograph, published electronically by a team of authors (doc. PhDr. Bedřich Crha, CSc., Mgr. Šárka Vaňková, Mgr. Radka Binderová, Mgr. Marek Olbrzymek, Mgr. Markéta Prudíková, Mgr. Lucie Sochorová, Mgr. Kateřina Šrámková and PhDr. Marek Sedláček, Ph.D.), reflects the results of extensive sociological research (MUNI/A/0711/2012), which was conducted in 2013 by the research team of the Department of Music, Faculty of Education, Masaryk University in Brno. The authors examine the musical preferences of artificial (classical) and non-artificial (popular) music among university students in selected EU states and compare the results with the situation in the Czech Republic according to previous research (MUNI/A/0885/2011).

Proceedings of papers presented at the XXV. music teacher conference MUSICA VIVA IN SCHOLA organized by the Department of Music, Faculty of Education of Masaryk University, on 19–21 October 2010 in Brno, the Czech Republic. The main theme of the conference „The Use of Multimedia Technology in Music Education“ was based on the research project MUNI/A/1025/2009 conducted by the Department of Music mentioned above. These monothematic conference proceedings present mainly the results of this extensive nationwide empirical research on the use of multimedia problems in music education at primary schools in the Czech Republic and on the basis of that research indirectly maps the state of current music education in Czech Republic.
