Chances and Challenges of Production-Orientation Music Lessons

27 Sep 2025

Students and teachers of the Department of Music at the Faculty of Education, MU, are participating in the international project “Chances and Challenges of Production-Orientation Music Lessons” from 29 September to 3 October 2025.

The aim of the project is to create didactic modules for music education based on the so-called production-oriented music education. The educational principle is based on creating an aesthetic space for the experiences of pupils and students who actively participate in musical activities in education. The activities allow them to experience and reflect on music and creatively participate in the music education process.

The project includes a workshop by Dr. Daniel Fiedler, Head of the Department of Music Education and Didactics from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, and the work of students in national and international groups on the creation of didactic modules. The results of the project will be presented at a joint meeting of all students and teachers. The content of the week-long international project includes not only professional activities within the field of music education, but also visits to concerts and cultural and historical monuments in the Brno area (see the program below).

The project involves 10 students from the German university FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and 10 students from the Faculty of Education, MU. The team is complemented by 2 teachers from both academic departments. The project is financially supported by the DAAD organization.
