The aim of the program

Doctoral studies in the field of Music Theory and Education create preconditions for a deeper professional focus of graduates, especially in the field of tertiary education, i.e. at universities and music institutions. Graduates are prepared for scientific research in academic institutions, e.g. in the positions of postdoctoral students and assistant professors. The main emphasis of the study is on interdisciplinary relationships - gaining expertise in the fields of general and musical aesthetics and semiotics, music sociology, psychology and education, and also music analysis and modern technologies.

The practice is fulfilled by:

  • participation in teaching in bachelor's or master's degree programs
  • research tasks and writing Ph.D. thesis
  • active participation in conferences, symposia, professional seminars, etc.
  • internship / study abroad
